FAQs

  • When not using your handbag, store it in a cool, dry place that is out of direct sunlight. It’s best to avoid handling your bag while wearing sunscreen and other substances that could stain it (but if you live in a sunny place like we do, please don’t forego sun protection on our account!).

For spills on denim bags, wipe off with water and, in some cases, spot cleaner can be used without damage to the material.

On our leather bags, it is best to avoid contact with water and oils, as these will damage and discolour the material. Please be aware that, if your bag or SLG is made of vegetable tanned leather, it will patina (change colour) with time and wear. This is normal—not damage—and it is something to embrace about your handmade bag!

  • Length of delivery time depends on two factors:

    1. whether the bag or SLG is already in stock, or if it is made-to-order

    2. the chosen shipping priority and destination

For products already in stock, your order will be shipped within 1-3 business days if placed on most weekdays. Orders placed on the weekend will not be sent out until the following week.

For made-to-order products, please allow 2-4 business weeks (M-F) for us to cut and sew your bag prior to dispatch. This time may vary based on the number of made-to-order products already in queue, the complexity of the design and its construction methods, and whether your bag includes any customised features.

You will receive a notification and tracking number when your order is dispatched. Please allow 1-6 business days for domestic orders (within Australia) to arrive depending on destination and whether you’ve selected Express shipping. International orders, depending on destination and customs requirements, can take 1-3 weeks on average.

  • For any made-to-order or customised products, we do not allow returns, exchanges, nor refunds.

For ready-made products, please visit our Returns & Exchanges page for more information.

  • Not all of our products are made-to-order. This feature depends entirely on material stock, as many of our materials are acquired as limited quantity surplus from other designers, meaning that not many items can be made. All products listed with customisation features are made-to-order so as to minimise waste and surplus stock.

  • Deadstock materials are leftover materials from another designer or brand which would have gone to waste (usually put in a landfill). We use deadstock leathers for two main reasons:

    1. by using deadstock, we help eliminate that already-made material from going into landfills

    2. it allows us to experiment with new designs and product ideas without investing in a large quantity of material that could also go to waste. If our customers love the product, we will then consider doing a larger production run of the same style but using another (possibly similar) material.

  • We source many of our materials from designer deadstock (see definition). Sometimes we acquire enough leather or textile to create ten bags, while other times, there’s only enough to make one or two of the same design.

MSP currently functions as a one-woman sewing and construction team, which limits our production scale but ensures our products are top quality.

  • Unfortunately we will not restock our limited edition styles, but we will re-release the same style in another material! If you would like to be updated each time we’re dropping new stock, sign up for our email list or follow us on social media.

  • Yes! Repair services are available throughout each MSP product’s lifetime. The price and feasibility of each repair is subject to review based on severity of sustained damage and availability of suitable repair materials.

Please note that limited edition products may not be able to be repaired using the same material from which they were originally crafted.

  • Certain products, such as Vagues 3.0, have customisation options available at additional cost. If a product does not have customisation options listed in its description nor at check out, then customisation is not available.

  • We occasionally consider a bespoke design project; however this process can be very time intensive and, as a result, very expensive for both us and the customer.

If interested in a bespoke design, please contact us directly at hello@mariesanspeur.com.

  • At this time, MSP only operates online and our products are only available for purchase online. However, we occasionally host in-person pop-ups at markets on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Northern NSW!

To make sure you don’t miss upcoming opportunities to shop and meet us in-person, please sign up for our email list and/or follow us on social media.
